How to prepare your other hard plastic
- Knock off caked mud and sand — clean plastic weighs true and processes better.
- Break large items down if you can, so they pack and load faster.
- Keep out anything with metal parts still attached where possible.
What we never take
- Medical or clinical waste of any kind.
- Food waste, or anything soaked in food, oil, chemicals or sewage.
- Anything the seller cannot say where it came from.
- Wet, mouldy or oily cartons. Keep your board dry and off the ground.
- Anything still holding chemicals, fuel or paint, even an empty-looking drum.
- Anything sharp, broken or unsafe for the driver to lift by hand.
Common questions
Do broken plastic chairs have any value?
Yes — rigid plastic is ground, washed and pelletised into raw material for new products, and it is bought by the kilogram. A stack of broken chairs is weight, and weight is money.
