Sell copper scrap — wire and pipe

Copper is the most valuable common scrap metal, and copper wire and pipe are bought by weight everywhere in Nigeria. Reearnify is preparing to buy copper from verified sellers — electricians, builders, dismantlers — starting in Ibadan, weighed in front of you and paid per kilo on the spot.

Because copper attracts theft, we only buy copper whose source the seller can state, and every purchase is recorded. We are not buying copper yet — join the waitlist and we will call you the moment we start.

That is per kilo. The final amount depends on the weight on our scale. Current prices and updates are always on the Reearnify app and our WhatsApp channel.

How to prepare your copper

  • Be ready to state where the copper came from; we record it with every purchase.
  • Separate bare bright wire from insulated cable — they are priced differently.
  • Coil wire and bundle pipe so it can be weighed in one lift.

What we never take

  • Medical or clinical waste of any kind.
  • Food waste, or anything soaked in food, oil, chemicals or sewage.
  • Anything the seller cannot say where it came from.
  • Wet, mouldy or oily cartons. Keep your board dry and off the ground.
  • Anything still holding chemicals, fuel or paint, even an empty-looking drum.
  • Anything sharp, broken or unsafe for the driver to lift by hand.

Common questions

Why do you ask where the copper came from?

Copper theft is a real problem, and honest sellers deserve a buyer who keeps the trade clean. We only buy copper with a stated source, and every purchase is recorded against the seller’s account.

Is insulated cable worth selling?

Yes — insulated cable is bought at its own per-kilo rate, lower than bare copper because of the plastic coating. Do not burn insulation off; burned cable can be rejected and burning it is harmful.
