Sell iron and steel scrap

Iron rods, old sheets, broken machine parts and other ferrous scrap are the backbone of Nigeria’s recycling trade — steel mills buy every kilo. Reearnify is preparing to buy iron and steel scrap from market sellers, workshops and households, starting in Ibadan.

Our driver comes with a scale, weighs in front of you and pays per kilo by transfer or cash the same visit. We are not buying iron yet — join the waitlist and we will call you the moment we start.

That is per kilo. The final amount depends on the weight on our scale. Current prices and updates are always on the Reearnify app and our WhatsApp channel.

How to prepare your iron / steel scrap

  • Gather scrap in one reachable place; the driver must be able to lift each piece safely by hand.
  • Separate iron from aluminium and copper — a magnet sticks to iron only.
  • Nothing sharp, unstable or still holding fuel, chemicals or paint can be taken.

What we never take

  • Medical or clinical waste of any kind.
  • Food waste, or anything soaked in food, oil, chemicals or sewage.
  • Anything the seller cannot say where it came from.
  • Wet, mouldy or oily cartons. Keep your board dry and off the ground.
  • Anything still holding chemicals, fuel or paint, even an empty-looking drum.
  • Anything sharp, broken or unsafe for the driver to lift by hand.

Common questions

What iron scrap do you buy?

Rods, sheets, machine parts and general ferrous scrap that one person can lift safely. Vehicle parts are fine if drained of fuel and oil. We never take anything sharp, unsafe or of unknown origin.
