Sell glass bottles for recycling

Whole glass bottles — beer, soft drink, spirits — are collected and recycled by weight in Nigeria. Reearnify is preparing to buy glass bottles from market sellers, bars and restaurants, starting in Ibadan, weighed at your premises and paid per kilo on the spot.

We are not buying glass yet. Join the waitlist and we will call you the moment we start. Whole bottles only: broken glass is never accepted, for the driver’s safety.

That is per kilo. The final amount depends on the weight on our scale. Current prices and updates are always on the Reearnify app and our WhatsApp channel.

How to prepare your glass bottles

  • Whole bottles only — broken glass can never be accepted.
  • Rinse bottles and drain them; labels can stay on.
  • Pack upright in crates or cartons so nothing breaks before pickup.

What we never take

  • Medical or clinical waste of any kind.
  • Food waste, or anything soaked in food, oil, chemicals or sewage.
  • Anything the seller cannot say where it came from.
  • Wet, mouldy or oily cartons. Keep your board dry and off the ground.
  • Anything still holding chemicals, fuel or paint, even an empty-looking drum.
  • Anything sharp, broken or unsafe for the driver to lift by hand.

Common questions

Do you take broken bottles?

No, never. Broken glass is unsafe for the driver to handle. Only whole, rinsed bottles are accepted.
