In Ibadan, most shops pay to have their waste taken away. But not all waste is the same. Some of it, like carton, is worth money, and if you separate it out you can sell it instead of paying to throw it away.

Two kinds of waste

Think of your shop waste in two piles. The first is general rubbish: food remains, sweepings, broken things that nobody wants. That still goes to your normal waste collector.

The second is recyclables: carton, and later plastic bottles, metal and paper. That pile is worth money, and it also makes your general rubbish smaller.

Selling the recyclable pile

Reearnify collects carton from shops and markets across Ibadan. We weigh it at your stall and pay per kilo, cash or transfer, the same visit. Less waste in your bin, more money in your pocket.

Common questions

Does Reearnify collect all kinds of waste?

No. We only buy recyclable materials, starting with carton. General rubbish like food waste still goes to your normal collector.
