How to prepare your cartons for sale

A little care before pickup makes selling your cartons faster and makes sure nothing gets turned away. None of this takes long once it becomes a habit.

Flatten every box

Open the bottom flaps and press the box flat. Flat cartons weigh exactly the same as open ones, but they take a fraction of the space and load much faster. A driver can pick up a flat stack in minutes.

Keep them dry

This is the big one. Store your cartons indoors, or under a cover, and keep them off the bare floor. A pallet, a bench or even a few bricks underneath will stop water soaking in from below. Wet carton cannot be accepted.

Remove what does not belong

Tape and staples are fine. Take out:

Plastic wrap and nylon
Foam and polystyrene packing
Food remains, and any carton that is oily or stained
Rubbish that has been thrown in with the cartons

Wait for a proper load

Our minimum pickup is about 50 kg. That is roughly a chest-high stack of flattened boxes. Once you reach it, send a photo of the pile on WhatsApp to 0708 734 1449 and we will arrange a time.

Common questions

Do I need to remove tape from cartons?

No. Tape and staples are fine. Just remove nylon, foam and food remains.

How many cartons make 50 kg?

It depends on the box size, but a chest-high stack of flattened cartons is usually around 50 kg.

Can I tie the cartons with rope?

Yes. Tying stacks into bundles makes them even quicker to load.
